Lately my husband and I have been discussing what we think our known enemies intend to do next. Why do we presume that there’s more? Well, if you’ve looked into the deep-seeded hatred and hollow shell of morality of those who orchestrated the original 9/11 attack, you know that their satisfaction is unresolved. Their appetite for destruction is insatiable. To put it simply, there wasn’t  enough mayhem and destruction felt from the original attack. We Americans have the audacity to move on with our lives. We’re not crippled yet. We’re still free. We still live in a Republic. Thus, the goal of the enemy has not yet been met.

It’s these types of realities that cause my husband and I to be aware. To be ready. And to continue to look for other ways in which we need to be ready. I’m frequently asked by folks to let them into my head a bit so that they can discover how I came upon the idea to store this, or to learn that, or decided to research that. I admit. Some of what I’ve come up with over the years never would have entered my mind 15 years ago. But the world is definitely a different place now than it was then. Hatred seems to have more fire and committment than it did when I was in high school. Technology now seems to make that hatred easily acted upon. And our latest generation of legal adults seems to be more obsessed with “what can you do for me?” and a sense of entitlement rather than trying to be their best for their family and their nation. All of this combined makes us ripe for another 9/11 level attack. Only this time, they will learn how to defend against a courageous few. They will know how to circumvent the facade of additional security we’ve put in place. And more importantly, they will have a better idea as to what their point of attack really should be–the heart and soul of Americans. Creating fear instead of destroying things is a better play for them.

So, how can you be ready for what’s coming next? Just keep doing what you’re doing. Mentally prepare for the inevitable next disaster. Physically prepare for it like it’s coming next week. Preparedness destroys fear and suffering. Comfort destroys chaos. A state of  awareness defeats any feelings of victimization.

In closing I wanted to share with you an article that I read in my local newspaper yesterday. It’s essentially a bit of a warning from one who may very well know when the next “9/11 attack” may come. Read it not to tremble, but to gather more information for your aware state of mind.

Is another 9/11 set to unfold?

By Lee Benson

Deseret News Published: Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 9:32 p.m. MDT

Earlier this year, quite by happenstance, I read a book written by Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter James B. Stewart.

Heart of a Soldier by James B. Stewart

Heart of a Soldier by James B. Stewart

“Heart of a Soldier” tells the story of two men who, well before it happened, foretold not only of the terrorist attack of 9/11 but also the 1993 bombing in the World Trade Center parking garage that preceded it.

One of the men, Rick Rescorla, was chief of security for Morgan Stanley with an office in the World Trade Center. He died on 9/11, but not before he shepherded all but six of Morgan Stanley’s 2,700 employees to safety because of a well-prepared and well-executed evacuation plan. He’d have made it out, too, had he not gone back in the building looking for those six.

The other man, Daniel J. Hill, is still alive.

With another Sept. 11 approaching I wanted to talk to The Man Who Predicted 9/11.

Although the primary focus in Stewart’s book is on Rescorla — a bona fide hero for his actions on 9/11 — I found Hill to be an even more fascinating character.

It was Hill who converted to Islam as a young U.S. Army paratrooper stationed in Beirut in 1958. It was Hill who learned fluent Arabic. It was Hill who joined the Mujahedeen Freedom Fighters in Afghanistan and fought the Soviet invasion there in the 1980s. It was Hill who personally met Osama bin Laden. It was Hill who used information from Islamic extremists to warn Rescorla that terrorists would use the underground parking garage for a car bomb attack on the World Trade Center. It was Hill who asked the U.S. government to assist him in an assassination attempt on bin Laden in 1998 (the request was rejected). And it was Hill who warned the FBI just weeks before Sept. 11, 2001, that his Mideast contacts told him “something big” was about to happen in the United States, in New York, Washington, D.C., or Philadelphia — maybe all three.

Through the Internet I managed to contact Hill at his home in Florida. He’s 71 now. I asked him if his reputation as a terrorism prognosticator without parallel has changed his life much.

“Oh, that blew over pretty fast,” he said. “Most of the people even in my hometown don’t know any of that stuff.”

He didn’t want to talk about the past. He wanted to talk about the future.

The very near future.

The man who predicted 9/11 is worried that its sequel is imminent.

“Muslims that I talk to say things like, ‘America thinks they’re safe now. They’ve forgotten about 9/11. But watch, Daniel. Stay near your TV. It’s going to be bigger than 9/11,’ ” he said.

Hill said the next terrorist attack will involve suitcase nuclear bombs that will be detonated in small, low-flying two-seater private airplanes manned by men hanging onto the belief that, like the 9/11 hijackers, they are about to die as martyrs and enter paradise.

American Hiroshima. Photo c/o newprophecy.net

American Hiroshima. Photo c/o newprophecy.net

He is not alone in suggesting such a scenario. A 2007 book, “The Day of Islam,” spells out the details, as do any number of Internet sites about a plot called “American Hiroshima.”

The nukes, he said, will be detonated over New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Miami, Houston, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

I asked Hill, “Why now?”

“Eight years from 1993 to 2001, eight years from that 9/11 to this 9/11,” he said. “Symbolism. They’re big on symbolism.”

“Ramadan started two weeks ago Saturday,” he said, referring to the Muslim holy month of fasting. “It always hits around Ramadan.”

Eight years ago, Hill predicted the attack would come on Oct. 16 — almost in the middle of that year’s Ramadan (the timing of Ramadan varies from year to year). He was about a month off.

“I don’t know the second, hour or day. I just know they have the means, will, motivation and desire to do it,” he said, noting that it’s believed that years ago the suitcase nukes, acquired from former USSR operatives, were smuggled into America across the Mexican border.

Hill said he has warned the FBI, the CIA and others in government. For the past two years, he’s sent out proposals for a book on the subject. All he’s gotten back are rejections.

“To most people, I am a deviant personality,” he said.

But there’s no arguing his credentials.

“I’m a Muslim,” he says. “I’m a special ops expert, I’m a terrorist and I’ve lived among Muslims. I fought the Russians with the same guys we’re now fighting in Afghanistan. I met Osama. I volunteered to assassinate him. I know (the enemy) so well because I’ve worked, slept and prayed alongside them for years. I’ve become one of them. I know their nature, I know their culture, I know how they think. I can quote the Koran like a Southern Baptist minister can quote the New Testament. I know these are people who do not tire, who do not quit. There are odds this won’t happen, but they aren’t big odds.”

“I hope you’re wrong,” I told him.

“Yeah. I hope so, too,” he said.

Paying attention can get you some great laughs, memorable moments, or vital warnings. Yesterday I was driving behind a police car and noticed that he had a license plate border that said, “Actually, I prefer bagels.” I got a much needed laugh off of that one. Glad I was paying attention.

Most Americans are unaware at just how tenable the financial culture is in our nation right now. But seriously, to not know it is simply a matter of not paying attention. It’s not like we have to trust in some kind of a prophet to see for ourselves. There is a bounty of evidence right now that begs for our attention so that we can be prepared for an inevitable challenge. This evidence spells out the critical need for us to get our own homes in order so that we can survive through the looming financial crisis.

In 1962, the “Cuban crisis” suddenly left the grocery shelves of stores nationwide empty overnight. Yet there was plenty of warning ahead of time to those who were paying attention. These persons had the ability to be independent of panic and price gouging. Yet did anyone pay attention to a looming financial crisis a year in advance of the triggering incident?

Didn’t Americans wake up to what they thought was a routine day on December 7, 1941? Unfortunately there’s some evidence military didn’t pay attention to and we were tragically caught unaware.

While the “great depression” erupted in a matter of hours, its effects reached millions of Americans for years, in spite of numerous warning signs. Unfortunately, the indicators of today’s looming financial collapse are more rampant and indicate a much more severe collapse than that of 1929. Here are the reasons why I state as such.

1)     Financial Crisis Clue #1: A new batch of over $12 billion (yes, that’s a “B”) of pay option arm mortgages are coming due this fall. We’ve seen how those due dates have affected the market thus far. With unemployment rising, finance restrictions getting tighter, and the mortgage market being so stale, this is NOT going to be a pleasant ride, folks.

2)     Financial Crisis Clue #2: Flu outbreak. You do realize that one simple interruption in our nation’s transportation industry will cause a serious financial domino effect, right? There are over 250,000 trucking companies in the U.S. alone. The majority of them are “small businesses.” Just as you live hand to mouth, so do business owners. The trucking industry is no exception. We are due for quite the outbreak of this Swine flu this fall. I’ve never seen a more real potential for a quarantine in the last several decades as I do now. We’ve been warned of a possible quarantine as recent as the first of this month. I’m certain that the delays are being extended as long as possible holding out hope that it won’t be necessary due to the financial domino effect it will have. Other countries have begun some quarantine procedures, costing them over 5 billion dollars a day in lost commerce. I don’t think our economy is healthy enough to endure such a financial hit. The transportation industry is just the tip of the iceberg. Look at the effect a quarantine would have on everything else that doesn’t get paid as a result of consumers not being permitted to go to work. Then look at the businesses that could fail as a result of employees not being able to go to work. Look at the travel industry, hospitality, gasoline, groceries, utilities, credit, entertainment, etc. The cost of a quarantine on our nation would be immense and just by itself bring about a huge depression that would take us 7 years to recover from.

3)     Financial Crisis Clue #3: Hyper inflation. This year the U.S. needs to sell the equivalent of 1.5 times its national deficit amount in the form of foreign investments in order to survive the present financial set back. Unfortunately, we’re almost into August and we haven’t succeeded at that yet. This year our deficit is “only” $1 trillion. However, next year it is $3 trillion. If we aren’t able to raise enough foreign investors for the $1 trillion this year, how are we to expect to raise 1.5 times our projected deficit for 2010—a process which USUALLY begins the quarter preceding the year the investments are needed? When hyperinflation occurs, the only solution is to raise taxes, print more money, or sell foreign bonds. They’ve already raised taxes. We aren’t being successful in selling the bonds. So, what happens if we print more money?

emperor's-new-clothes4)     Financial Crisis Clue #4: Currency value is highly questionable. As I’ve attempted to explain previously, national currency only has value in a fully functional economy.  It only has value when there is a healthy balance between supply and demand. As we see in our news on a regular basis, we’ve long surpassed the criteria for a functional economy. I firmly believe our economy is as dysfunctional as Jon and Kate Gosselin’s marriage. Since the Federal Reserve refuses to publish the M3 report anymore which tells the American people just how much currency is in circulation at one time, we are seriously in store for an “emperor’s new clothes” scenario.  The fact that we don’t know how much money is in circulation does not change the fact that we’re seeing significantly higher amounts of currency being exchanged than ever before. The reason why our government has been staking claim to so much land (in spite of the fact that it’s unconstitutional) is so that there is more “collateral” for our foreign bonds. Fort Knox is empty, folks. Even food commodities which we have had in store in abundance in decades past have been exported in desperation to bring cash flow into our country’s government. The clouds are getting awfully dark in this warning, folks.

5)     Financial Crisis Clue #5: Credit crisis. Why in the world would credit card companies—who know full well that the economy is in serious trouble—start increasing minimum payment requirements to more than double the amount they’ve been in the past? What kind of financial sense does that make? Surely they will lose customers in doing so, or cause bankruptcies due to the irresponsible pool of consumers they cater to, right? So why would they make such a seemingly desperate move? It has to do with the fact that their money isn’t as valuable on the international trade markets any longer. As a result, the credit companies themselves have over extended themselves and thus have to cannibalize their source of income in order to bail themselves out. In addition, if you were to go to a grocery store consistently and find them out of milk each time, wouldn’t that start affecting your confidence in the availability of milk? You might start hoarding it when you did find it, or suspect there was a problem with it. The same is happening with money. Consumers are finding the “money shelves” bare at banks, credit companies, and lending companies. This directly affects consumer confidence so they are not parting with their “milk” quite so easily. Consumer confidence has a HUGE effect on currency value.

Utility Bills Could Bankrupt You. Photo c/o co.fort-bend.tx.us

Utility Bills Could Bankrupt You. Photo c/o co.fort-bend.tx.us

6)     Financial Crisis Clue #6: Credit crisis affects power companies. Most power companies purchase their power in bulk. They are able to do so based on their credit ratings through contracts known as power purchase agreements (PPAs). However, as the credit crunch in our nation becomes more obvious, even power companies are losing their stellar credit ratings and thus have difficulty renewing power purchase agreements, or at the very least, negotiating the best prices. This means, of course, that the power costs are going to go up this fall when many of these agreements are up for renewal. Couple that with the Cap & Trade “TAX” and you have a recipe for yet another financial disaster. It could come to the point where an employee literally cannot afford to drive to work. Your utility costs could bankrupt you. If this type of domino effect occurs, not only would there be a financial collapse, but several utility companies could go bankrupt with no one and nothing to rescue them. Imagine a power company sitting there looking like a ghost town.

Well, I think that suffices for now, folks. My purpose in sharing this with you is to give you yet one more reason why those of you who are preparing for “something” AREN’T crazy, and why the rest of you need to wake up and take advantage of the good times to get ready now. It sure would be a shame if the times of plenty lulled us into a sense of numbness to common sense, wouldn’t it? My friends, I beg you to please wake up and pay attention to the looming financial crisis and prepare accordingly. When this occurs, currency will be useless. Items which have an inherent value to them such as food, medical supplies, fuel, etc. are the only thing that will be worthwhile. Right now you can still obtain such items with our questionable currency. But how long will that last? Is that really a gamble you’re willing to make on your family’s life?

Wake up and smell the currency folks. The financial collapse is indeed looming.

Ultimately, emergency preparedness is about independence—the ability to rely on yourself to provide for you and your family’s needs.  That’s really what being prepared boils down to.  It’s not about absolving fear in your life.  It’s about celebrating your independence, your abilities, and your responsibilities.  It’s about proactively ensuring your future health and happiness.  In my opinion, your continual acts of preparation manifest your commitment to independence.

Ultimately, that’s what independence in our nation boils down to as well.  A state of independence is the ONLY thing that ensures freedom.

Independence Day Flags photo c/o giftideasdirect.com

Independence Day.  Yet another holiday whose true meaning has been drowned out with meaningless commercialization, furniture and auto sales, and oblivious talking heads.  Even the very name of this momentous holiday has been marginalized, watered down, and forgotten.  And yet this day, unlike all others, serves as an all too infrequent reminder that all of the joys and values in our life that we hold dear exist because of this one day in history.

Grant it, this day was not possible without all of the battles that were fought before and after its day of significance.  But what is critically important in my mind is that this day would have no longevity and substance had it not been for the millions of Americans who have fought to preserve its intent ever since.  To assure its invaluable presence in our lives today, the same proactive measures taken by those who went before us must be reenacted every day of our lives.  We can’t afford to allow the luxuries and conveniences of our generation to blind us to that which made possible such blessings.  Just as we can not profit by killing the goose that lays the golden eggs, we cannot exist without the freedoms that guarantee joy and happiness in our life.  In fact, try as we might, we cannot even willingly give away such freedoms. They are indeed unalienable.  But sadly, we can ignore them to the point that they are foreign and unthinkable.

Picture this: You’re watching the evening entertainment on television.  A Special Report interrupts your show with this statement.

independence-the-world-is-flat“A renowned author and scientist, Dr. Geek, has just announced to the world that in spite of all of our previous research, the world is actually flat.  In fact, Dr. Geek has evidence to support that the outer edges of the world have still not been completely explored, and that we’re simply sitting on a much larger flat surface that we have previously believed.”

Ridiculous, right?  But would a mass amount of media reporting for an entire month begin to cause us to doubt the truths we already know?  Would an act of Congress passing a multi-billion dollar budget to explore such “scientific evidence” make us believe that it must be true?  Would we then develop a divisive belief in our nation comprising of the Flats and the Rounds?

Our freedom of independence cannot be altered just because a story is consistently in front of us on the evening news.  Independence cannot be sold, voted against, legislated into oblivion, mortgaged, traded, bought or given away in a treaty.  But we can surrender it in our hearts and thus ignore it.  We can stop believing.  We can stop behaving like independent souls.

Family photo c/o ora.ucr.edu

Family photo c/o ora.ucr.edu

Our family, our faith, our liberties, and the efforts of ALL of our life’s pursuits are all meaningless in a nation without true independence.  This independence does not restrict itself to one day a year.  Rather this singular event in history has the power to provide us with independent freedoms for as long as this nation shall stand.

In the name of the freedoms we enjoy every day, and even those that we have surrendered already in our hearts, may we all remember this Independence Day for what it is truly about.  May we renew our hearts this weekend in appreciation and passion for how the Declaration of Independence permeates our lives and assures us lasting joy.  May we hold our Independence close to our hearts and never surrender it to any man.

wheat-shortages-drought-spainWhile I reported on the looming wheat shortage in detail several months ago, it has caught my attention again due to how quickly it’s coming upon us and how much worse it’s become.

A wheat shortage isn’t just confined to far off distant lands anymore.  It has definitely hit America.  Additionally, there is not a single country in the world that is not experience a wheat shortage.

Nations all over the world are reporting a shortage of wheat.  Romania lost over two-thirds of their wheat harvest last year due to drought.  Hungary, Czech Republic and Bulgaria are all in the same boat.  Ukraine lost over a third of its harvest due to flooding.  This year Argentina is planting the smallest wheat crop in over a century!  They used to be the 5th largest exporter of wheat and now they will be consigned to importing it.  Zimbabwe’s largest bread producer has announced to the public several times in the last 2 years that they were completely out of flour or only had 2 days supplies left—and that is including their emergency reserve stocks.  Accounting for over 15 nations, wheat output has been declining over the last 2 years, while population has continued to increase.  Spain and Argentina have the largest declines of 48% and 34% respectively with Poland and Canada having the least output decline of 10% and 12%.

Can you say wheat shortage?

This is a common story among major bread manufacturers worldwide—nothing left in their stores.  Several processing plants that used to employ hundreds have literally had to shut down completely due to a lack of wheat—not money.  Wheat shortage.

The U.S. Government as a whole has a similar story as well.  In spite of laws which are still in effect to prevent this very crisis, the U.S. has exported ALL of their wheat surpluses to other nations simply so that they can survive and to prevent an even bigger economic meltdown.  In fact, though once the largest exporter of wheat in the world, the U.S. is now having to resort to IMPORTING types of wheat from other nations, paying top dollar to do so, which is obviously passed on to consumers.  In January of last year, the USDA reported that the hard wheat crop was smaller than EVER, thus forcing many buyers to spring wheat, which has escalated those prices to unprecedented highs.  Thus the price of wheat is skyrocketing due to supply and demand as well as a result of the value of the U.S. dollar.

Wheat is indeed a valuable commodity, much like gold and silver.  Since the U.S. dollar has weakened dramatically due to the excessive “bail outs” and money printing, lifesaving commodities such as wheat are being hyper-inflated.  This, in part, explains why countries such as Pakistan and China are storing wheat at record numbers even in an attempt of secrecy.  Armies aren’t just guarding weapons and gold anymore.  Many, even our U.S. forces, are guarding wheat supplies in foreign nations.  When money markets go awry, commodities such a meat, grains, and other lifesaving assets go up.

The credit eligibility of nations has been significantly downgraded as well—dramatically impacting the wheat shortage.  As a result, acquiring more wheat, seeds, appropriate amounts of fertilizer, etc. has become impossible for most nations.  Farmers in our own nation aren’t able to plant as much as in previous years to due to the tightening reign on credit and increasing taxes and export fees.

Can I say it any plainer, folks?  There is NO storage of wheat now except what is in your own home.  Take a look at your food storage.  How does that make you feel?  Safe?  Secure?  Or in need?

Is it any wonder that wheat has increased in price over 400% at the markets that I frequently shop?  World wheat prices are at record highs right now.

I have just received inside information from two chains that formal letters are being disseminated among grocery stores across the U.S. informing employees that wheat and affected prices will be doubling by the end of the summer.  Food prices in general have experienced the highest inflation rate of the past 18 years.

Unfortunately all of these problems aren’t just affecting the wheat market.  As a result, ALL grains are increasing in prices, some such as corn and rice to record numbers as well.  Markets are depleted in soy (expected decline of 26% this year) and corn (expected decline of 46% this year) all over the world.  Is it any wonder why China’s imported 55.2% more soybeans this year than last? And yet the U.S. crop of grains is down by over 19% this year!  This also affects the feed availability for meat production.  No feed?  Then the number of cattle and fowl output will decline substantially as well.

I’m thinking that you shouldn’t be waiting for wheat to come down in price before you obtain sufficient for your family—this includes any other grains as well such as rice, pasta, bran, etc.  Remember when I told you that I was convinced that a bucket of wheat would soon be worth more than a bucket of gold?  Do you now have some semblance as to WHY I would say that?

If you’re reading this, then you have been sufficiently warned, instructed, and encouraged.  You’ve seen evidence of wheat shortages.  You have no excuse to fail yourself or your family when a real food crisis hits your region.  You must take matters of survival into your own hands and stop being all comfy cozy and assuming that others will take care of you.  You cannot rely on the farmers to plant, on the truckers to transport, or the government to have a solution.  This isn’t to say that farmers, truckers, and government are “bad.”  They just aren’t superhuman folks.  They are HUMAN.  They can’t possibly be expected to take care of you.  Heck, some of your own parents who gave birth to you can’t even be expected to do that!  You need to take care of you, plain and simple.  Please, please get your grains now!  I assure you, a wheat famine is NOT pleasant to live through.

If there ever is a cause for a run on the grocery stores, the supplies will be depleted in thirty minutes.  That’s it.  One half hour warning is all you will have to get more food, more water, more produce, more seeds, more medical supplies, etc.—you and the rest of your community.  Yet in that thirty minutes, your local stores will only be able to supply less than 1% of your community with the goods they would need or hoard.  Do you really want to risk that you’ll be a part of that lucky 1% and that you’re fast enough to get all of your necessary goods available in that one half hour?

  • hackers-power-gridWheat shortages
  • Threat of Global War
  • Escalating oil prices
  • A trillion dollar national deficit
  • Constitutional freedoms being shredded
  • Threat of banking collapse
  • High rate of home foreclosures
  • Threat of H1N1 Flu epidemic
  • Unprecedented inflation of the dollar
  • Foreign hackers successfully tapping into the power grid
  • Skyrocketing unemployment

These are all sound reasons and even warnings why many Americans are beginning to wake up and take steps towards emergency preparedness today.  Thank goodness many are beginning to notice some signs which cause them to take such actions.  My greatest concerns are for those who still ignore the inevitable.  Grocery stores aren’t stocked for any kind of a panic.  They are orchestrated solely for a consistent replenishing of cupboards throughout America.

Pakistan Petrol StrikeGas stations will last approximately one and a half hours depending on the day a rush to hoard comes into play.  Again, are you willing to risk that you’re a part of the select few who will have access to gasoline in a crisis?

No one has to play Russian Roulette with the security, safety and survival of their family today.  Everyone has been sufficiently warned that the need will exist in which you will need your own emergency preparedness supplies.  Whether you’re a reader of the scriptures, or simply a viewer of the broadcast news, evidence is mounting just how vulnerable our current way of life truly is, and as such we must be prepared.

Stocking up for the future is not only wise preparation, but it’s very therapeutic one as well as it exerts a proactive control in an uncertain world.  The choice is ultimately yours.  Will you prepare or perish, suffering needlessly?
